Digital Rights Management

You may download some books protected by digital copyright through various channels, but in principle, Rodel Reader cannot directly read these copyrighted books.

How does Rodel Reader detect whether a book is copyrighted?

It depends on whether the epub file contains encryption.xml files.

So you should never do the following:

  1. DO NOT change the epub book suffix to zip and open it.
  2. DO NOT REMOVE THE 'encryption.xml' FILE IN THE 'META-INF' DIRECTORY AFTER OPENING IT.
  3. If you remove it, DO NOT change the suffix of the archive back to epub.
  4. Even if you change it, DO NOT just import it into Rodel Reader.

Otherwise, the Rodel Reader can only be opened and read like a normal book.

If you do, it's your own behavior, not the software.
