Search and subscribe to podcasts
Rodel Reader supports two ways to add podcast subscriptions: discover podcasts through Apple Podcasts or enter a Feed URL directly.
Apple Podcasts
Discover and subscribe to podcasts through the Apple Podcasts catalog.
Access Apple Podcasts
Click Apple Podcasts in the podcast module sidebar to enter the Apple Podcasts page.
Browse and Search

Subscription Steps
- Find an interesting podcast on the Apple Podcasts page
- Click the podcast to view details
- Click the Subscribe button to complete subscription

Region Settings
Apple Podcasts search region follows the system locale setting. To change:
- Click the Region Settings button in the title bar
- Jump to system settings page
- Modify the system region
- Return to the app and re-enter the Apple Podcasts page to apply changes
Add via URL
Subscribe by directly entering a podcast's RSS Feed URL.
Steps
- Click the Add Subscription button in the podcast module sidebar
- Enter the podcast RSS Feed URL
- Wait for parsing to complete
- Select target group (optional)
- Click OK to complete
Supported Formats

After successful parsing, the system extracts:

Group Management
Use groups to organize podcast subscriptions.
Create Group
- Click the + button next to the Groups area in the sidebar
- Enter group name
- Select icon (optional)
- Click OK
Group Operations
Right-click a group for these operations:

Move Podcast to Group
- Select when adding: Choose target group when adding subscription
- Edit podcast: Right-click podcast → Edit → Change group
Post-addition Processing
After successful subscription, the system automatically:

| Update sidebar | Display newly added podcast |
| Background sync | Fetch episode list |
| Show unlistened count | Calculate and display unlistened episode count |
Tip
Sync runs in the background and won't block the interface. Episode list updates automatically after sync completes.
